Fire Season is Here

The weather is starting to warm up and we’ve already had the first significant wildfire of the season; the Webb Fire burned approximately 550 acres in Douglas County on June 4.

As we move from Spring to Summer, this is a good time to remind the community of few key things:

  • An outdoor burn ban went into effect for Chelan and Douglas Counties on June 1 and will last until October 1.

  • Register for emergency notifications (including road closures and evacuation notices) in Chelan or Douglas County on Everbridge. You will find a link to their website on our Fire Resources Page.

  • Please take note of the current Fire Danger Level on signs around the valley and on agency websites. Here's a link to Chelan County's site.

  • Travel safely, don’t park in tall grass, secure trailer chains so they don’t drag and cause sparks, dispose of cigarettes safely in an ashtray or other appropriate receptacle.

  • Consider installing blue reflective address signs at the end of your driveway so first responders can find your residence.

Watch our website for information or give us a call at (509) 662-4734.

Stay safe!
